Animal Absence: Flying Fox
This year, due to summer droughts in Australia, flying foxes have died in mass (you can read more on this at https://phys.org/news/2019-09-starving-death-australia-drought.html or at https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/2020/01/flying-foxes-are-dying-en-masse-in-australias-extreme-heat/).
Now, during the wildfires, many thousands of them have been asphyxiated or burnt.

Macaw Ara Guacamayo
Many thanks to Danit Treubig for her beautiful song "Guacamayo", which inspired this illustration.
For archaic wisdom, external reality reflects the inner world and vice-versa; thus, the colourful macaw leads us inwards to our heart (or Self) and helps us reconnect with our inner Beauty.
